Young Philanthropists

Bardfil-m.This inovative Program is implemented under the umbrella of the Association of Slovak Community Foundations in its member foundations. Purpose of the Program is to develop the notions of philanthropy amongst young people (aged 15 – 30), to nurture their active involvement into problem – solving in their youth communities, to support their many talents and interesting ideas.

This program offers two big opportunities for youngsters:

  • to become philanthropists, to create their own grant making program and thus support other young people
  • to create their own beneficial projects which could be supported up to 250 € max.

The Program is implemented by young people for young people. Community foundations provide the administrative umbrella for young volunteers: they provide their  know – how, advisory and technical assistance. Also, they provide training to their youth teams.

Until December 2011, the Foundation implemented only the program entitled Youth for Youth for young people in Prešov as a continuation of the program run by the Prešov Community Foundation after the temporary closure of its operations. In December 2011, however, it launched the program under the title BardFil – Bardejov Philanthropists.
